Copper Mountain

Overview

The Copper Mountain Mine, located south of Princeton, British Columbia, is a conventional open pit, truck and shovel operation. Hudbay owns 75% of the Copper Mountain Mine, with the remainder owned by Mitsubishi Materials Corporation. The mine has a 45,000 tonnes per day plant that utilizes a conventional crushing, grinding and flotation circuit to produce copper concentrates with gold and silver credits.

Copper, gold and silver production in 2024 are anticipated to be 30-44,000 t Cu, 17,000-26,000 oz Au, and 300-455,000 Ag respectively.

Hudbay is implementing plans to stabilize the operation by leveraging its efficient operating practices at Constancia. Recent operating performance demonstrates the start of stabilization benefits with improvements in copper recoveries, mill throughput and mill availability achieved year-to-date 2024. Significant upside potential for reserve conversion and extending mine life.

As of January 1, 2024, the Copper Mountain Proven & Probable Reserves (100% basis) are 367.0 Mt grading 0.25% copper and 0.12 g/t gold containing 900,000 tonnes of copper and 1.4 Moz gold (NSR cut-off value of $5.67 per tonne). The current Mineral Reserves at Copper Mountain are estimated to support a 20-year mine life.

Evolve’s royalty covers a portion of the Copper Mountain claims, including the Alabama and Virginia deposits.
